Kenneth Kibby Mocho

Starting as a Singer-Rapper back in 2002 in Mombasa, Kenya. It wasn’t long before I realised the ‘autodidact’ in me which quickly, with a combination of my life’s experiences, advanced me into a music producer, who became a video producer and a DIY practitioner… and  that my friends, became my Achilles’ heel. 😂

So interesting enough, what my immediate society terms as “a Jack of all trade and master to none” is basically my definition of a dreaming over-achiever with an inquisitive mind that finds joy in solving problems creatively in the good old ‘outside the box mentality’ way.

Anyways, long story short, all of these narratives I experienced inspired me to put the microphone and the guitar down every once in a while so I can have time to create opportunities that secures and guarantees my career’s success, especially from a business perspective.

This is a brief chronology of how things manifested….

1. 2005 – Starting my own audio & music production studio Son Of a Beat . This not only totally solved all my music and sound production needs, but also allowed me to collaborate with artist both locally and internationally and make some money, producing other music creatives.

2. 2011 – I won a Kalasha Award for Best Original Score category. This literally launched my career in the TV & Film industry and also solved my videography needs, especially Production of my own music videos and other affiliated content. I was also able to secure work with several established media production houses in Nairobi as a sound consultant in return expanding my revenue source.

3. 2019 – Kibby-A-Freak was registered as the official mother company that carried all it’s internal inventions, operations and consultations on a corporate level.

After all has been said and done, my intentions and life goal is to create a success career path for myself in my entertainment industry. Because that way, from my understanding, I get to not only inspire my kindred creatives, but also discover and lay an artists’ guide, a blueprint that can be observed, studied, adopted where necessary and applied, on how to maneuver through and find one’s own unique way of Self Expression.
